What are pearl pimples look like?

Penile pearl papules are small, needle-sized, conical papules that occur at the junction of the coronal sulcus and the glans in adult males. Generally, it is light red or yellowish. It shines on the surface and feels hard. It does not pain when pressed. They are often arrange around the edges of the glans and can arrange in multiple rows. it will not lead to proliferate or cause functional obstacles. So, medicine also regards it as a normal physiological variation.

 What is the difference between Pearl papules and condyloma acuminata? The penis with pearly papules is often mistaken for a condyloma acuminatum, causing a big panic. In fact, the difference between Pearl papules and condyloma acuminata is very big.

  1. Different location. From the point of occurrence, pearly papules usually grow on the edge of the glans penis. And the location of condyloma acuminatum is very large. it not only in the glans, urethral orifice, vulva, perianal, anal, but also can appear in thigh root and other parts.  

   2. Different appearance. In terms of appearance, it is probably the difference between "Pearl" and "cauliflower". Pearl papules, which are often same size and shiny surface, and they arrange in regular rows like strings of pearls, and they do not change color when people stimulate them with acetic acid. But condyloma acuminatum is not the same, you imagine the appearance of cauliflower: the surface is rough, usually scatter in one, and sometimes all together, but the arrangement is certainly irregular. If you stimulate it with acetic acid, it often changes color.

   3. Behavioral change is different. From the behavioral changes, pearl papules will not increase or become larger after long time. But condyloma acuminatum is different, it will generally become larger or more in a short time, and even in other parts occur new rash.
